Heavy Rain Floods Marathwada Hubs; State Approves Road & Water Projects
Persistent heavy rains have caused waterlogging in Marathwada’s industrial zones. The Maharashtra government allocates ₹16 crore for road repairs and ₹5 crore for water infrastructure to ease the impact on local businesses and residents.
Marathwada has been facing continuous heavy rainfall, resulting in significant water accumulation in key industrial hubs such as Jalna, Paithan, Waluj, and Krushnur. The flooding has affected daily operations in factories and caused inconvenience to local residents.
To alleviate the situation, the state government has sanctioned ₹16 crore for road improvement projects. Strengthening roads will help in reducing transportation difficulties for businesses and commuting challenges for workers in these industrial zones.
Additionally, ₹5 crore has been allocated to enhance water management infrastructure. This funding aims to improve drainage systems and prevent future waterlogging during intense rain events, safeguarding both properties and crops in nearby areas.
Officials have emphasized that the government is closely monitoring rainfall and water levels to coordinate timely interventions. Emergency teams are on standby to address issues in flood-affected industrial pockets, ensuring minimal disruption to economic activities.
Residents and business owners are urged to cooperate with local authorities, follow safety instructions, and stay informed through official channels. The combined efforts of the government and community are expected to reduce losses and enhance preparedness for future heavy rains.
